Playing Video Games To Save The Lives Of Childrens

Siv HD has launched a massive charity event that will be donated to Save The Children foundation. The idea of this charity event comes from his friend Athene. These days, many competitive gaming has seen doing fund raisers and one of the famous game is League of Legends, it is the most played competitive gaming today. Siv HD scheduled the events and invited his followers for the said event.

Those who didn't know about Siv HD, he is a professional streamer, Youtuber and gamer. You can catch him time to time doing some stream in twitch.tv.

Siv stated that he will be streaming for 10 hrs straight and the original goal was $50,000. When his stream started he donated $100 dollars to start the first donation. From 60,000 viewers, amateur gamers, to professional gamers, to game developers they donated money from their own pocket. After 10 hrs, he reaches his goal. While underway in the marathon, he received a call from the representative of the American headquarters of the Save the Children foundation. When the time he reaches the goal, the donations are still coming in, so he decided to raise the goal for $77,000 and he will still continue on streaming. Even he reaches that goal too. Siv then again set to goal to $100,000 and said that will continue streaming until he could not stay awake any longer. With over 12 hrs of streaming and he decided to rest and sleep, the donation reaches $106, 000. While this event is happening, USAID organization promised that they will be matching the total donations 9 times and then the grand total of the donation raised to $1,000,000!

This marathon was a group effort of about 40 streamers and Siv HD is the most known of that group and getting this focus with the success result.

With this event it becomes a headline in a regional newspaper. The paper also mentioned the online streaming business and about professional gamer and streamers.
