DOTA 2 Updates Generates 3% of Internet Traffic
DOTA 2 is one of the fastest growing video game in gaming community. When Valve pushes DOTA 2 updates (usually once a week) it generates 3% of internet usage. It proves that size of this community is impressive.
During the conference in LinuxCon last September 16, Gabe Newell has shared the public entertaining statistics of DOTA 2 and stated that:
When we do a new update for something like Dota 2, nearest we can tell, we’re generating 2-3% of the worldwide and LAN-based IP traffic.Newell also stated that next week, Valve will introduce some device that runs on the Linux operating system.
